A poem for anyone struggling with an eating disorder
I pray you find calm again.
I pray that you will smile again, not just with your lips, but with your heart and soul.
That you will be able to enjoy an ice cream cone again, and it’ll be just that — you enjoying an ice cream cone.
I pray you’ll grow to love holidays again, BBQs, and parties.
I pray you’ll feel okay ordering a birthday cake, that you’ll go on vacation, and your body won’t have to pay for it before or after.
I pray you’ll not live forever having something to “work off,” but you’ll move because it keeps you alive.
I pray that one day you’ll look at yourself in the mirror and see someone fearfully and wonderfully made.
I pray, I just pray.
For anyone struggling with an eating disorder, you are not alone.
Praying for you.
